Borthwick Castle cinematic wedding film

What a dream! I really hope you appreciate this one, it holds a special place in my heart. The beautiful Kat & Jamie had the most wonderful wedding day at Borthwick Castle, a landmark that could easily find its place in the Tolkein universe, or an excellent period drama. The atmosphere that surrounds the venue is hard to describe - you feel completely cut off from civilization, a place where you and your loved ones can fully celebrate with no distractions. Historical and dramatic, romantic and exciting, simply the perfect setting for a cinematic wedding film.

I was extremely blessed by K&J’s willingness to think outside the box and fully commit to the video. The opening shot was a beautiful moment taken away from the hustle and business of the day, simply to sit with each other and recite their vows. I couldn’t help but squeal at the opportunity, and I love how I could use it as part of the narrative. The rest of the day was filled with special moments between the couple, including a brief cuddle in the stunning marble bathtub!

The ceremony and reception flowed seamlessly, the roaring fire in the main hall being a standout detail that added to the ambience and immersion of the stunning venue.

Using soundscapes and music, I attempted to recreate the atmosphere and romance that was felt on the day, this is one of my favourite parts of the edit.

I would shoot this day again in a heartbeat, every stage of creating this film was a joy.
